An absolutely shocking week, it all went pear shaped with my horrendous decisions on Sevens, Canada played like clowns, USA & Australia squandered decent leads, Samoa blew hot and cold, some teams were unreadable. I went in too big, now that I am keeping stats
All games: Loss of 17.18 units off 74.5 units off 59 games at 25/59 or 42% SR
Super Rugby: Profit of 4.23 units off 12.25 units off 7 games at 5/7 or 71% SR
Six Nations: Loss of 6.6 units off 8.5 units over 3 games at 1/3 or 33% SR
U20 Six Ntaions: Loss off 1.03 units off 1.5 units over 3 games at 1/3 or 33% SR
Varsity Cup: Loss of 0.55 units off 1.5 units over 2 games at 1/2 or 50% SR
Vancouver Sevens: Loss of 13.23 units off 50.75 units over 44 Games at 17/44 or 39%
Varsity Cup (Loss of 0.55 units off 1.5 units over 2 games at 1/2 or 50% SR)
Only the two games picked, my bet of the day Tukkies +6.5 v Pukke went missing badly, in fact I am now brassing myself from Tukkies bets going forward. Maties delivered on the minus v neighbours Ikeys which softened the pain somewhat. As mentioned before Varsity cup is full of kids who have girlfriends, write exams, and over and above are just having fun, anyone who spends a lot of money on these kids needs to think twice.
Vancouver Sevens (Loss of 13.23 units off 50.75 units over 44 Games at 17/44 or 39%)
I tipped Fiji to win, however did not punt them, I had a go at USA again, France which proved to be a royal waste of money and Argentina. Argentina got smashed, however when USA were leading 14 – 0 I thought I was home and dry with them in the Final, however Kenya had other ideas and came back. This was a bad tournament for me, I continued to get Canada and Samoa wrong. Anyway the Commonwealth games, Hong Kong and Singapore await in the next few weeks.
Six Nations (Loss of 6.6 units off 8.5 units over 3 games at 1/3 or 33% SR)
With a bog play on Scotland I was disappointed that I got it wrong, don’t get me wrong Ireland were great, I am disappointed that I read it so wrong, I am still confused as to how a team can go to Australia and win, play so well against NZ and then come back from 10 twice v France and convincingly beat England, lose so badly v Ireland? Are Ireland that good? I will unfortunately only be a believer after they beat England at Twickenham. Wales played like spoiled kids, somehow being happy with a mediocre performance, dropping balls, getting cards, giving away senseless penalties etc. France won, I should have backed them on the board, trust me I am kicking myself. Amazingly I am still up on Six Nations after this weekend.
Super Rugby (Profit of 4.23 units off 12.25 units off 7 games at 5/7 or 71% SR)
My only saving grace, an unbelievable 5/7 handicaps called correctly bar the crusaders and an unbelievable comeback by Blues, which certainly rates as the biggest upset this year!! I know I tipped them to win the NZ conference, so maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Sharks impressed, Reds won, Highlanders delivered and the Rebels stamped their name on the Aussie conference. Lastly how was that win by the Jaguares? Wow!! A great game to watch. I am really looking forward to this week’s games.
