U20 JWC France 2018
I will say this to those who are new to this betting format, do not and I can only say it again to stress the importance of what I am about to say, DO NOT think you know what is going on here, DO NOT think you are Bullet proof here, you ARE NOT, these are KIDS and they play like kids, they make mistakes and like I have heard a number of people say in the past, NO ONE GOES ONTO A FIELD TO MAKE MISTAKES, sure those who are bought and may be involved in match fixing do, but the rest do not, these are kids and your bets should reflect that you understand this. It is easy to lose in a tournament like this just as it is easy to win.
I am of the opinion that this kind of a tournament is priced up by juniors and the seniors leave it alone because the big punters do not a have a go or they think that it is not important, I always have a go at these below the radar tournaments as they often offer value.
Last year I made a profit and this year should be no different, but again money management and discipline are the key to success, obviously great calls help, but the former do provide the key.
Games take place in three towns: Narbonne, Perpignan and Beziers, on Game Day Four (Semi Finals) they play over the whole day with the first game at 14h00 GMT +2 and the last at 21h00 GMT +2
Here’s to a great tournament, and let’s make some cash…
Wales v Argentina (5th place SF1 at 14h00 GMT +2)
Scouring the games for the best bet, I did not have to look too far, I really liked this Argentinian team v England, then the delivered v Scotland and then lost their way v Italy, that was their bad game and maybe they were trying too hard to win, this game they are up against Wales, Japan nearly beat them, I am going for a speculative price here but for maximum U20 JWC units, I just like it and feel it will arrive and at this price I am interested, and it is therefore my #BestBetoftheDay. Call: Argentina -8.5 at 7/4 for 3 units (Bet taken at BetXchange)
Ireland v Scotland (9th place SF1 at 16h00 GMT +2)
Ireland v Scotland, in fact this is the toughest one to call The Irish are minus, they have lost every game, the Scottish have also lost every game, but something about the Irish starting so well against both SA and France has got me thinking about the minus, the Scottish have unfortunately given me nothing. I am going to scratch the Irish losing against Georgia and say it was all Georgia and will rather have an extremely tentative quarter unit on the Irish. Call: Ireland -6.5 at 0.25 units (Bet taken at BetXchange)
Italy v Australia (5th Place SF2 16h30 GMT +2)
Italy playing for 5th place is a surprise on its own, Australia playing for 5th is not a surprise, however the former have been atrocious, their only shining light a comeback board win v Scotland who have proved to be useless. Australia winning the plus twenty five by some distance against their ditch neighbours, other than that not much to say, they got beaten by Wales and the beat Japan, arguably the worst team in the comp, not much confidence for either side. Call: Australia -7.5 at 0.25 units (Bet taken at WSB)
Georgia v Japan (9th Place SF2 18h30 GMT +2)
Georgia have absolutely surprised almost everyone, winning the game v Ireland and not allowing either of France or SA to smash them, effectively winning all three plusses in the process by some distance. Japan on the other hand scored zip v NZ, however did hold them to no score for eighteen second half minutes and in the last game almost getting the win v Wales. This is by far the toughest game to call on Handicap but I have a small inclination that Georgia minus will be a step too far. Call: Japan +16.5 at 0.5 units (Bet taken at WSB)
England v South Africa (SF1 at 19h00 GMT +2)
England started off so well, they beat the minus v a very spirited Argentinian team, who for most parts of the game I thought would get up. England then smashed Italy, comfortably beating the minus. In the third game they battled against what could only be called as a very average Scotland. SA on the other hand could not get over the handicap line v Ireland and got smashed by France. This game I expected a lower handicap than what has been given and I would like to say that SA at current levels deserves respect. Call: SA +12.5 at 2 units (Bet taken at BetXchange)
France v New Zealand (SF2 at 21h00 GMT +2)
Hosts France are up against NZ, in the first two games NZ were not tested, in the third game NZ only won by 9pts, I have to say that I have very little confidence for the Kiwis here. They beat two minuses and could not beat the Aussies who are also not that great. France on the other hand have done OK, not great but OK. The handicap here is at 6.5 but I would rather have a speculative play on the French who I am of the opinion can win this game late in the day with a big home crowd. Call: France on the board at 22/10 for 1 unit (Bet taken at Playa Bets)
