Goonchie’s Call #30
2 from 2 last week. The Irish derby between Leinster and Munster produced a win for our value bet, Leinster coming through with an 8 point victory.
Our best bet came through with flying colours and those 7/10 bets can’t be ignored and must be encouraged. You can’t always chase the dream of a 10 leg multiple, often better to build the empire and take your wins.
WP -8.5 at 7/10
Province seem to be an unstoppable juggernaut this season. Their convincing win against The Sharks was really the benchmark for me with them having put their closest contenders to the sword.
Damian Willemse, Sikhumbuzo Notshe and Wilco Louw all make a return to bolster an already strong side.
Loftus home ground advantage isn’t what it used to be and that’s made evident by the overwhelming odds for Province as favourites
Pumas +6.5 at 15/10
Sticking to Currie Cup this weekend although the Champions Cup kicks off.
Always good to see the first set of results or a few to gauge. I do see Leicester Tigers at 12/10 as decent value against Ulster but I guess time will tell. Lions have just not been the same side this season. Swys De Bruyn has been away, their defense has been disorganised and although Lionel Mapoe and Elton Jantjies make a return I genuinely believe Pumas could even win this game at home particularly with what’s at stake. Pumas have a very pragmatic approach and play almost a ‘test’ style of rugby and I believe they will force the Lions to make errors.
A bet also worth consideration is total points depending on how the bookies price it, there should be a minimum of 60/65 points.
