Scarlets & NZ the way to go
New Zealand v Australia
Last week our value Bet was Glasgow to beat Cardiff and for me it was great value at 13/10. It ended up being an easy ride home for Glasgow. Catching a 13/10 in rugby is always a treat.
Unfortunately our best bet Leinster wasn’t as successful in a shock defeat to Toulouse. It just goes to show that French sides at home are a different animal however Leinster weren’t themselves on the day.
Scarlets -9.5 at 9/10
As a South African regardless of if you support one of the four Super Rugby teams, you want to see The Cheetahs and Kings succeed in the Pro14. Unfortunately an important rule for betting is always leave the emotion out of it and Bet with the facts and your head.
The Kings while improved at home are still just not at the level to really compete.
They lack genuine quality throughout their squad and with some crucial injuries will battle with their lack of depth. Their now former captain Mike Willemse is out for 3 months and there depth at Hooker is less than to be desired. I could go on about why this is a good bet but let’s leave it at that.
New Zealand -20.5 at 13/10
New Zealand have had time to regather themselves after two monumental clashes against a seriously physical Bok side. I believe they will fly out the gates against Australia and once Australia try and chase that’s when the flood gates will open.
McKenzie should cause havoc from the back but the real definitive stamp for me is the New Zealand bench. When you have players like Aaron Smith, Brodie Retallick and Richie Mo’unga coming on with 20 to go, the word that comes to mind is impact! Don’t be surprised if many of the points come from that period of the game as we have come to learn with not just the All Blacks but all New Zealand based teams.
