Scotland v Fiji
Revenge for the Scots?
Scotland v Fiji, revenge for the Scots you may think? Scotland lost a game they should have won in June. Fiji got up at the end, I went Scotland and lost. I am pretty sure that playing in Fiji is foreign to the Scots. Coupled with a weakened squad and I suppose Fiji were deserving of their victory.
This game however is at Murrayfield, the home of Scottish rugby. The Scots have hosted Fiji 3 times at home before, most recently 2009. Scotland have beaten Fiji on all three occasions. This week’s handicap is around the 16pt line and Scotland have only beaten this handicap once before at home
Fiji have done OK at Murrayfield
Fiji have managed at least ten points on all three occasions and Scotland have scored more than twenty all three times. Enough stats! Let’s look at the team’s respective chances. Scotland have had a stellar year, beating both France & England. Their performances away at Argentina, and Italy are also worth a mention.
Fiji have had a decent year too, beating Georgia comfortably, smashing Canada and beating Scotland. This game should be an interesting one. Last year Fiji lost by nine to Italy in the End of Year Tours, they also lost to Ireland by just a couple off a ridiculously high plus 23.5 on the day.
I expect Fiji to come close here, exactly how close is really anyone’s guess, but I am interested in the Fijians. I feel the Bookies have overpriced this one, but it is Tier One v Tier Two. You just cannot go big especially when Tier One is at home.
My Call here is one of value only, not going big at all. It will be interesting to see how Fiji go here, considering the World Cup is less than a year away. I have gone for a couple of points away from 9/10 and gone low on the units.
Kick off is scheduled for 16h30 GMT +2 on Saturday at Murrayfield. The referee for this game will be Andrew Brace (IRE), Click here for the Weather in Edinburgh and if you want to follow the game on Twitter click here for the Hashtag #SCOvFIJ
Call: Fiji +11.5 at 15/10 for 1 unit
