T-Rex Farrell Ruined the Result
Goonchie’s Call #34
Two from Two Last Week
2 from 2 last weekend. Although bitter sweet after Owen ‘The T-Rex’ Farrell ruined the result. That being said the boks only have themselves to blame, numerous opportunities weren’t converted earlier in the match and the game should have been closed out by half time. After watching the viral video of Rassie teaching Esterhuizen a shoulder charge I’m interested to see how we defend. I think the video was more tongue and cheek than anything.
Let’s get on to another winning weekend… Hopefully.
South Africa Outright at (6.2/10)
We may have lost the game last week but there were very encouraging signs and we must also bare in mind how strong England are at Twickenham and they couldn’t cross the whitewash once in the match. I think this week you will see a more clinical attack.
Our line outs will be back to there best with Mostert at 5. Unfortunately throwing Pieter Steph in at 5 in theory sounds good having an extra loosie but it’s very difficult to come in cold at an international level and call line outs. Mostert’s work rate around the park can’t be ignored either. France are physical but their defense can be erratic and I think we will capitalize on that. Faf and Willie being back also adds huge value!
Australia Win Margin 1 – 12 at 18/10
I have gone for quite a big value bet this weekend. I think Australia will show up this weekend. The backline is the strongest I’ve seen it for a while, almost every player can be considered a game breaker. Pocock and Hooper are also fit which is a plus for the Wallabies.
Foley and Halfpenny pretty much cancel each other out, both brilliant from the tee. I think Australia will look to pepper Halfpenny at the back with high bombs for Folau and co to gather. Just purely on height difference you would be silly not to employ that attacking tactic. Australia have built a winning streak against Wales that is worthy of giving them some confidence going into the game (13 games in a row) however that being said it’s definitely Wales best chance of beating them on Australia’s current form.
I anticipate a close contest that will be cagey initially but will open up as the game progresses. Look out for an abrasive breakdown battle, especially with the loosies. Particularly Pocock v Tipuric.
