Last Week was Enjoyable
Last weekend was probably my most enjoyable rugby betting weekend this year, not just because it was 2 from 2. Both my teams in green came through with the result to push my best bet and value bet over the line. Although I emotionally supported them going into the game, I also put those emotions aside when offering my betting opinion and the fact that both results came through would be testament to that.
A hugely profitable weekend it was indeed.
It’s the last week of the November Internationals and they have been good to us so let’s hope the trend continues.
Springboks Outright at 11/10
We are being a bit cheeky with our best bet this weekend but The Boks have been strong in the face of adversity and over the past two weekends have threatened to really put a good performance together. Well, a whole 80 minutes worth of a clinical performance.
The pack is crucial to my assessment on this game. Wales certainly match us in the Backline but our pack is littered with strong ball carriers which they don’t have. Tipuric is the only danger really and his threat is specific to the breakdown. Kolisi and the tight five will have their hands full securing ball but Rassie is nothing if not thorough when it comes to assessments and he will have identified that.
Don’t get me wrong, the Welsh pack is good, I just don’t think good enough to beat us in the fight for the gain line. Other than that they will be up there in the set piece and like I say their Backline isn’t short of talent. My point of difference is the gain line battle between the packs which I see us winning.
Newcastle Win Margin 1 – 12 at 16/10
This will be a really cagey affair. Newcastle are scrapping in a relegation battle early on in the season. Bath have underperformed and have just broken a losing streak.
I expect this to be a ding dong battle with lots of penalty exchanges. There is more at stake for Newcastle. It also sees the 100th appearance for Toby Flood who will be very much so up for the game and he will be converting all or most points on offer. Home ground advantage in this match will be crucial. I see Newcastle just getting over the line with grit and determination. The bookies have priced this game at -2.5 in Newcastle’s favour so we are within that realm. The bookies are pretty good with their margins and this gives further justification to the bet.
